Become part of the Stitching for Appalachia group on Facebook. This is a platform for sharing ideas, discussing handmade items, and offering support to those sewing for children in need. Our community thrives on collaboration and shared goals, making a significant impact.
If you make dresses, we especially like the Matilda pattern from Violette Field Threads because it fits all body types. It is a PDF pattern and can be purchased here:
We also love this free pattern from VFT. We have lengthened the sleeves for fall/winter wear.
If you are sewing or doing any kind of textile work for our children, please join the Stitching For Appalachia group on Facebook.
We discuss dresses, of course, as well as handmade items we need for the kids and pictures of items made for PPTA's "children!"

At Putting Prayers to Action, we envision a world where every person has access to the resources they need to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. We strive to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our organization is built on a foundation of compassion, integrity, and accountability. We believe in treating everyone with dignity and respect, and we are committed to using our resources in the most effective and efficient way possible.
Please do not use Velcro on any dress near the neckline because it has caused problems with girls with long hair. Please remove all safety pins from your finished product before you send them to us. Please make sure your items are marked with a label and the size. Matching hair bows, purses and bracelets are extras but can be included for each girl.

Great! We have several donors who bless us with handmade blankets, dolls, knit sets, quilts, purses, hair bows, pj’s, dresses & more! Join our Facebook Group Stitching for Appalachia for more details!
If you are going to need a receipt for your items, please fill out receipt and place in box.

PPTA is a 501c3 nonprofit which is family owned and volunteer operated. PPTA provides the services to all children and families who are affected by the areas vulnerabilities. These services are provided free to anyone who needs them, regardless of their background. For example: the Decker Family usually pays the overhead of the service and the cost associated with the PPTA services. Your donation will keep our trailers and equipment running safe and efficiently. Plus, you will be assuring us to continue our work in Sharing Christ’s Love.
